Our coastline is home to unique habitats, species, and communities and it’s under increasing pressure from environmental change and human activity.
Coastal Action Plans help us better understand the condition of specific coastal areas, the ecosystems they support, and the threats they face. These plans include local knowledge, conservation priorities, and detailed species lists, along with clear actions and responsibilities for protecting these important places.
The Southern Fleurieu Coastal Action Plan outlines what matters most for this coastline and where effort is needed. It supports coordinated action by landholders, community groups, partners and government to protect and restore coastal environments.
This work aligns with neighbouring regions, including Green Adelaide, to support a consistent approach across the wider coastline.
