Support for environmental volunteer groups
Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu is committed to empowering the environmental volunteer groups working across the region.
We offer support through grants, funding, insurance support, and training to help your group stay active, safe, and focused on the work that matters most, caring for Country, restoring ecosystems, and protecting biodiversity.
Our annual Grassroots Grants programs puts up to $260,000 on the table each year for projects that support volunteers, schools, environmental community organisations, not-for-profit groups and landholders working locally for environmental and regenerative land management outcomes. Grants are available for projects in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu across two funding tiers: less than $4,000 and up to $20,000.
Our GreenSafe Grants help volunteer groups and schools in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu areas with grants of up to $500 for new personal protective equipment or minor tools to assist them to work safely.
Environmental volunteers working in our region on public and private land may be entitled to free insurance cover by South Australian Financing Authority (SAFA) insurance.
Need First Aid training for your group members? We can cover the costs! Sessions are arranged on an as-needed basis, reach out to us for more details.

We’re offering fully funded Civil Liability and Personal Injury Insurance for eligible environmental volunteer groups for 2026–27. To apply, please complete the questionnaire by 30 June 2026.
