The Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board is responsible for assessing and issuing permits for Water Affecting Activities (WAAs) under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019.
Water Affecting Activities are works that may impact the health and condition of water resources, such as building or altering dams, watercourse crossings, or works near rivers, creeks, or drainage channels. These activities can affect water flow, water quality, and surrounding ecosystems.
Our role is to ensure that these works are carefully considered and managed to protect the long-term health of water resources, while also supporting landholders and communities to carry out their activities responsibly. We assess permit applications, provide advice on best practices, and help people understand their responsibilities when working near or with water on their property.
You can find more information, including guidelines and application forms, on our Water Affecting Activity Permits page.
